Deadline approaches for free Remembrance Weekend rail travel applications

Eligible bereaved military family members have until mid-October to apply for travel to remembrance events.

Worcestershire County Council has reminded bereaved military families that the application deadline is approaching for free rail travel during Remembrance Weekend on 7 and 8 November 2026.

The offer is intended to help eligible family members attend remembrance services and events for relatives who died while serving in the armed forces.

The council’s 9 October news listing said there was one week left to apply. Applicants should check the current eligibility conditions and application instructions with the official scheme before making travel plans.
