Worcestershire County Council is recognising the contribution of children in fostering households during Children of Foster Carers Week, which runs from 12 to 18 October 2026.

The council says children already living in a foster home can help newly arrived children settle into daily routines and feel welcome.

The authority shared the experience of a local fostering family as part of the awareness campaign and says more foster carers are needed across Worcestershire.

Families interested in fostering can find eligibility and support information through the council’s official fostering service.
