Worcestershire residents invited to shape 2027/28 council budget
The county council is seeking views until 31 October as it plans spending amid a significant funding gap.
Worcestershire County Council has opened a public consultation on its 2027/28 budget, inviting residents and businesses to give their views before the 31 October deadline.
The council says it spends about £1.24 billion annually on services including adult and children’s social care, roads, libraries and schools. It reports that 77 pence in each pound goes towards social care, schools, home-to-school transport and public health.
The authority’s medium-term financial plan identified an £85 million gap for next year, with the projected gap potentially increasing. The consultation asks which services matter most and where savings or new income might be possible.
The figures and timetable are drawn from the council’s published consultation announcement; they are not independently audited by Severn News.
