Ross-on-Wye Wilton Road rockfall works to start on 19 October
A major engineering scheme at Wilton rock face will require road closures through December as crews install long-term rockfall protection.
Engineering work designed to reduce the long-term risk of rockfall at Wilton Road in Ross-on-Wye is due to begin on 19 October and continue until 11 December 2026.
The scheme includes vegetation clearance, new drainage, a rock trap and a stone-faced concrete block wall. Wilton Road will be fully closed between its Wye Street junctions during the works, with Royal Parade also closed and signed diversions in place.
Herefordshire Council says the timing has been planned around ecological requirements and that pedestrian access will be maintained where possible.
