St John’s CE Primary School in Kidderminster has formally opened a specialist inclusion base for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Known as The Nest, the provision includes two classrooms, two sensory rooms, specialist teaching, an outdoor area and an accessible bathroom. It can support up to 24 pupils from Reception to Year 6 with communication and interaction needs.

Worcestershire County Council says the facility was created with around £350,000 of council funding as part of work to expand specialist provision across the county.
