A countywide programme will offer free food and activities to children and young people during the October school holiday.

Families across Gloucestershire will be able to access a programme of free food support and activities during the October half-term holiday.

Gloucestershire County Council said the programme will run from 24 October to 1 November and will include sports, outdoor activities, arts and crafts, community play sessions and wellbeing opportunities. Local organisations and activity providers will deliver the sessions.

The council said the initiative is open to children and young people across the county without an eligibility test. It is separate from the Holiday Activities and Food programme and is intended to give families additional support and enrichment outside term time.

Places are limited and booking is required for many sessions. The council is directing families to the Gloucestershire Virtual Family Hub, while some activities are being booked directly through individual providers.
